MISSION STATEMENT:

To act, in accordance with the provision of the Constitution, as queen’s representative in Saint Lucia and to exercise such functions as would foster national unity and identity both at home and abroad, helping to promote national economic, culture and social interests, encouraging in the process excellence all fields of endeavour.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serving as Her Majesty’s representative in Saint Lucia;
  • Perform duties outlined in the Constitution;
  • Attend events of national significance;
  • Receive foreign diplomatic personnel;
  • Representing Saint Lucia abroad;
  • Discharge of duties as Patron to eligible national organisations;
  • Extending hospitality to foreign guests, national organisations and Saint Lucian nationals at home and abroad;
  • Co-ordinate and oversee the execution of Special Projects initiated by the Office of Governor-General or at the request of other Agencies;
  • General oversight of the administrative and domestic staff and of the management of the official residence of the Governor-General;
  • Provide leadership in those aspects of the social, cultural, intellectual and economic life of the country, which fall within the remit of the Office of the Governor-General. 

PRIORITIES:

  • Efficient and timely discharge of functions outlined in the Constitution;
  • Maintenance of Government House as a national asset;
  • Promotion of the cultural and historical heritage of Saint Lucia;
  • Promotion of the social and economic interests of Saint Lucia.
